The Ministry of Health - Manatū Hauora is currently seeking nominations for health practitioner candidates to be considered for the New Zealand Health Practitioners Disciplinary Tribunal - Taraipuinara Whakatika Kaimahi Hauora (the Tribunal). The purpose of the Tribunal is to adjudicate on charges of professional misconduct laid against health practitioners.

In this instance, they are currently seeking applications/nominations for the following health practitioner roles.

  • Four anesthetic technicians.
  • Four Chinese medicine practitioners.
  • One dental hygienist.
  • Two dental technicians.
  • Three dental therapists.
  • Two dispensing opticians.
  • Two nurses.
  • Eight medical practitioners.

Under section 86 of the Health Practitioners Competence Assurance Act 2003 , members of a Responsible Authority board are not eligible to be members of the Tribunal.
