We are looking for a talented individual to become a crucial asset within our Registration team.

Our Registration team works alongside doctors, medical colleges, recruiters, and employers. Our responsibility is to register doctors, particularly those who trained outside of New Zealand.

This role is a chance to enhance your expertise in various domains, deepen your understanding of the health sector, and actively contribute to fostering trust among New Zealanders in the integrity of our medical workforce.

We are looking for an individual with exceptional proficiency in both written and verbal communication, impeccable organizational and planning skills, great customer service skills and the ability to handle diverse tasks.

The main responsibilities of this role include:

  • Assessing applications for registration and practising certificates – handling queries from applicants, analysing risk, securing advice, and making written recommendations in accordance with criteria and policy.
  • Maintaining and updating the medical register and issuing practising certificates.
  • Monitoring doctors who are practising under supervision.
  • Organising assessments of overseas trained specialist doctors.
  • Giving stakeholders advice about Council’s registration processes and assisting with the development of registration policy and procedures.

To be successful in the role:

  • Possess a tertiary qualification or relevant experience.
  • Have proven experience in administration.
  • Exhibit strong analytical skills and adeptly interpret information with exceptional attention to detail.
  • Embrace the role of a team player by contributing to the teams’ shared goals.
  • Have sound word processing abilities and experience with customer/stakeholder management systems.
  • Have excellent interpersonal and customer service skills.
  • Exhibit a high level of organisational skills and be able to effectively  manage workloads to meet deadlines.
  • Uphold quality service standards and showcase a commitment to continuous improvement.
  • Have an unwavering enthusiasm and ‘can do’ attitude.
